Offense Paces 10-3 Win, Sixers Snap Seven-Game Skid

San Jose, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers snapped a seven-game losing streak on Friday at San Jose Municipal Stadium with a 10-3 win versus the San Jose Giants. Every batter in the lineup for the Sixers had at least one hit in the affair with Jared Foster and Michael Hermosillo each tallying three hits apiece. The Sixers evened the series at 1-1 and are now 4-5 versus the Giants in 2016.

Alex Klonowski (7-10) held the Giants' (50-48, 11-17) offense down through the first five innings of the game allowing a pair of runs in the third but no more. He surrendered six hits and two walks with four Ks. The trio of Jordan Piche, Winston Lavendier and Kevin Grendell combined to allow just an unearned run over the final four innings.

The offense was humming for the Sixers as they tagged San Jose starter Jordan Johnson (6-8) for eight runs (six earned) on ten hits in six innings of work. Hermosillo at the top of the order had a double and a pair of singles for the Sixers and also had a sac fly. Foster also notched a double and a pair of singles; the LSU product stole a base and scored four runs on the night. He has hit safely in all eight games he has played for Inland Empire (33-65, 10-18).

The 66ers also got two-hit games from Taylor Ward (who has five hits in the series through two games), Jeff Boehm and Roberto Baldoquin. Boehm had two RBI. Zach Houchins blasted a third inning homer that drilled the foul pole in left for his 11th of the year. David Fletcher tagged a solo shot to left in the fourth for his third of the year and extended his hitting streak to 15 games.

The 66ers have had a batter reach base in all 18 innings of the series while the Giants have had a man reach in 15 of 17 innings that they have batted. The 66ers were 6-for-16 with runners in scoring position in the contest and held San Jose to 1-for-10.
