HOUSTON- The Houston Dynamo face Vancouver Whitecaps FC at 8:30 p.m. CDT tonight at BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets are available at www.HoustonDynamo.com, by calling 713-276-GOAL, or by visiting the BBVA Compass Stadium box office (2200 Texas St., Houston).

The game will be broadcast live on ROOT Sports Southwest Alternate Channel (8:00 p.m. pregame; channel guide). Beginning tonight, the Dynamo and the club's Supporters Groups have joined together to take a stand against the use of a frequently-used offensive chant used by a small segment of the fans during games. The "cheer" in question involves the usage of a Spanish term which is considered a derogatory slur.

Dynamo legend Brian Ching led the dialogue with the club's Supporters Groups - El Batallon, Texian Army and Brickwall Firm - to help root out the usage of the term and replace it with something more positive and inclusive.

After working with the Dynamo organization to identify a solution, the Supporters will make a point to loudly yell "Ohhhh...HOUSTON!" every time a visiting team's goalkeeper takes a goal kick. Fans throughout the stadium are encouraged to join in.

Prior to tonight's game, the Dynamo and Whitecaps FC will enter the field wearing t-shirts bearing Major League Soccer's "Don't Cross the Line" campaign against offensive and vulgar language. Fans in the stadium may anonymously report offensive language by texting "BBVA" and the issue to 69050.

The Dynamo have recorded a shutout in four consecutive MLS home games. The last time Houston allowed a goal at BBVA Compass Stadium in league play was April 15, in a 4-1 loss to the LA Galaxy. The four-game home shutout streak is the second-longest in club history after a five-game home shutout streak from June 21 to August 19, 2007, when the club went 4-0-1 at home as part of a club-record 727-minute shutout streak overall.

The Dynamo have allowed just six goals in seven league games (0.86 goals per game) under interim head coach Wade Barrett, including three shutouts. Before Barrett was appointed interim head coach on May 25, Houston allowed 20 goals in its first 12 games (1.67 goals per game).

Dynamo MF Ricardo Clark (24,994) can eclipse 25,000 career MLS regular-season minutes with six or more minutes played tonight. Clark is 27th all-time among MLS field players (non-goalkeepers) in minutes played. MF Andrew Wenger can make his 125th career MLS regular-season appearance tonight.

This is the third and final meeting between the Dynamo and Vancouver in the regular season. Houston lost the first matchup 1-0 on a Pedro Morales penalty kick at BC Place but rebounded for a 1-1 draw in Vancouver in the rematch.

Vancouver sits in fifth place in the Western Conference with an 8-8-5 record (29 points). Morales leads the Vancouver attack with six goals while Christian Bolaños and Kekutah Manneh have scored five goals each. Morales also leads the team with six assists, with Bolaños and Manneh following with four and two assists, respectively. Manneh will be out for Saturday's match after undergoing foot surgery last week. Whitecaps FC also sold forward Octavio Rivero to Colo-Colo in Chile, but just picked up Designated Player Fabian Espindola from D.C. United.

As a team, Vancouver's 33 goals scored are just one behind the league leaders but the 35 goals allowed are tied for the most in MLS. Goalkeeper David Ousted, 2015 MLS All-Star and Goalkeeper of the Year runner-up, leads the league with 77 saves while facing the most shots of any other keeper (116).

The Dynamo remain at home next week to host the San Jose Earthquakes at 8 p.m. CDT on Sunday, July 31 at BBVA Compass Stadium. For tickets for every Dynamo game, visit www.HoustonDynamo.com or call 713-276-GOAL.
