Saturday is Armed Forces Appreciation Night as the club honors the men, women and families that sacrifice to protect and serve our country. The festivities begin pregame in the Bud Light Beer Garden, featuring a "Red, White and BBQ" presented by SportsRadio 610 with proceeds benefitting Patriots and Heroes Outdoors, which provides outdoor activities for Purple Heart recipients and military with service-related injuries. The night will include pregame and halftime tributes for Armed Forces members and their families.

The Dynamo and Union meet four days after both advanced in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with Round of 16 victories on Wednesday. The Dynamo beat defending champion and rival Sporting Kansas City 3-1 on Wednesday as FW Mauro Manotas scored twice on either side of a goal from MF Alex Lima. The Union rallied behind two second-half goals from Chris Pontius for a 2-1 win over the New York Red Bulls.

The Union lead the Eastern Conference with 26 points from 17 games (7-5-5). Pontius leads the way with six goals and four assists in his first season with Philadelphia while C.J. Sapong (questionable for Saturday with left ankle injury) has five goals and Dutch newcomer Roland Alberg has five goals in his last three games, including a hat trick against Chicago on June 22.

Head coach Jim Curtin has used a youth movement in the back, starting two rookies in defense: Josh Yaro, the No. 2 overall pick in this year's MLS SuperDraft, and Keegan Rosenberry, the No. 3 selection who has played every minute this season (1,530). Goalkeeper Andre Blake, the No. 1 selection in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, is in his first season as full-time starter and has played for the Jamaica national team.

Following tomorrow's match, the Dynamo return to the road to visit Orlando City SC on Friday, July 8. For tickets for every Dynamo game, visit www.HoustonDynamo.com or call 713-276-GOAL.
