Top Prospect RHP Conner Greene Added to Fisher Cats Roster

21-year-old was 4-4 with a 2.90 ERA for Advanced-A Dunedin

MANCHESTER - The Toronto Blue Jays have announced the New Hampshire Fisher Cats latest roster move.

RHP Conner Greene has been promoted to New Hampshire from Advanced-A Dunedin. He is scheduled to start Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the B-Mets in Binghamton.

Greene is ranked No. 1 among Blue Jays pitching prospects by both Baseball America and MLB.com, and No. 2 in the Toronto organization overall.

The 21-year-old from Santa Monica, California went 4-4 with a 2.90 ERA in 15 starts with Advanced-A Dunedin, including an impressive string of starts to begin the month of June. In three outings, he allowed a total of just two earned runs in 19 innings (0.95 ERA), racking up 19 strikeouts during that time.

Greene was called up to New Hampshire last August and made five starts. He posted a 3-1 record with a 4.68 ERA in 25 innings for the Fisher Cats.

The Blue Jays selected Greene in the seventh round of the 2013 draft out of Santa Monica High School. The pitching prospect has received some added notoriety for his brief acting career.
