Salt Lake Bees to Celebrate Utah Jazz Night July 8

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake Bees and Utah Jazz have partnered for Utah Jazz Night at Smith's Ballpark on Friday, July 8. The Bees will take on the El Paso Chihuahuas starting at 7:05 p.m. in a night that will include Jazz themed jerseys, giveaways and games on the field. Fans of the Bees and Jazz can receive up to a $5 discount at the Smith's Ballpark box office for the game by wearing a Utah Jazz jersey, shirt or hat.

Four-time NBA All-Star and former Jazz and Runnin' Utes great Tom Chambers will throw out the first pitch and sign autographs on the concourse during the game. Chambers was the eighth overall pick in the 1981 NBA Draft by the San Diego Clippers out of the University of Utah and played for the Jazz from 1993-1995, helping the Jazz to the 1994 Western Conference Finals.

The Bees will wear special Utah Jazz jerseys on the field and there will be Jazz giveaways throughout the game, including autographed items from Jazz players. The Jazz theme will also extend to the Smith's Ballpark videoboard and contests played on field between innings.

First pitch on July 8 is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with gates opening at 6:05 p.m. Kids 12-and-under can run the bases following the game in the SNAP Postgame Kids Run. Tickets are available at www.slbees.com, the Smith's Ballpark box office and Smith's Tix outlets.

The Bees are home for an Independence weekend series with the Fresno Grizzlies featuring fireworks postgame on Friday and Saturday night. The ballpark will also host "Fourth On The Field" on July 4 with a backyard party on the field at Smith's Ballpark with fireworks at 10 p.m. Tickets and more information is available at www.slbees.com.
