Perdomo, Rios to Pitch in MLB Futures Game

LANSING, Mich. - Current Lansing Lugnuts pitcher Angel Perdomo and former pitcher Francisco Rios have been selected to take part in the 2016 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, representing the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday, July 10th, at the San Diego Padres' Petco Park.
Perdomo, 22, was added to the World roster in place of the injured Dylan Unsworth. He is 2-2 with a 2.48 ERA in 14 games with the Lugnuts, striking out 87 batters in 65 1/3 innings. On Monday night, the Midwest League All-Star struck out a career high 12 batters in 6 2/3 innings at Great Lakes. Perdomo's .170 opposing batting average ranks second-best among all full-season Minor Leaguers.
Rios, 21, was an original selection on the World roster. He was 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA in six starts with the Lugnuts before receiving a promotion to A-Advanced Dunedin. Overall, the right-hander is 6-3 with a 2.06 ERA in 15 starts, striking out 81 batters in 87 1/3 innings.
South Bend's Eloy Jimenez, representing the Chicago Cubs, and Lake County's Francisco Mejia, representing the Cleveland Indians, are the only other Midwest Leaguers in the game.
The Lugnuts are currently in the midst of a seven-game road trip before returning home to Cooley Law School Stadium in time for Independence Day.
