Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons face the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees in the first game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd was a perfect 6-0 on its roadtrip to Indianapolis and Louisville, extending its winning streak to nine games. Buffalo is 21-17 at home this season.

Red-Hot Herd

The Bisons have won nine straight games for the first time since, April 15-23, 2013. Buffalo's modern era record for a winning streak is 10, set by the club twice: April 18-28, 2002 and August 12-21(1), 2004. During the winning streak, Buffalo has outscored their opponents 46-17, posting three shutouts and allowing more than three runs just once.

vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (4-3)

Tonight's contest features the two hottest clubs in the IL. While Buffalo has won nine straight, the RailRiders have won four in a row and are 8-2 in their last 10 games. These teams last met May 2-4 as Scranton/Wilkes-Barre won two of three at Coca-Cola Field. The road team has won five of the seven games in this series this year.

Roberto Hernandez

RHP Roberto Hernandez makes his 13th start of the season tonight. The veteran tossed six shutout innings in his last outing, a 4-0 win over the Indians last Saturday. Hernandez has allowed three or fewer runs in five of his last six starts and is 3-2 with a 4.23 ERA at home this year.

Jesus Montero

DH Jesus Montero brings an eight-game hit streak into tonight's game. The slugger has averaged .455 (15-33) with three doubles, two home runs and nine RBI since June 21. Montero ranks 4th in the IL in average (.312), 2nd in hits (91) and tied for 3rd in RBI (47).

MLB Rehabs

LHP Brett Cecil (tricep strain) and LHP Franklin Morales (shoulder fatigue) are on MLB injury rehab assignments with the Bisons. Both southpaws have made a pair of scoreless relief appearances for the Herd, with two innings of work and one hit allowed each.

Bisons Bits

C Tony Sanchez has reached base in each of his last 16 games, posting a .264 average and seven walks since May 21...C Wilkin Castillo's 36.4% throwing out base runners was 3rd in the Eastern League before his promotion from New Hampshire yesterday...INF Casey Kotchman's pinch hit two-run double yesterday was the Herd's first successful pinch hit of the season (1-9, .111)...RHP Ben Rowen has not allowed a run in his last 17 outings since May 8 (22.1IP, 9H, 18K).

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (43-37) earned a series win in Colorado with yesterday's 5-3 win over the Rockies. Former Bisons RHP Aaron Sanchez allowed one run over eight innings to improve to 8-1 on the season. 3B Josh Donaldson hit his 18th home run of the season. Toronto begins an 11-game homestand tonight against the Cleveland Indians (7:07 p.m.).
