'Chucks Lose, 6-5, in Green Bay

Wausau Woodchucks News Release

Green Bay, WIS - The Wisconsin Woodchucks (13-15) dropped the first of a split doubleheader to the Green Bay Bullfrogs (11-18), 6-5, at Joannes Stadium in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

After the 'Chucks bullpen had to throw seven innings on Tuesday night in a loss to Wisconsin Rapids, the Woodchucks needed a lengthy start in game one of this split doubleheader and they got one from Kevin Bolder (St. Cloud State).

Bolder gave up three runs and struck out two over six innings, perhaps the most important piece of his line.

Unfortunately for the 'Chucks, it wasn't quite enough. Green Bay scored three runs in their final two innings up to snatch the game away.

George Janca (Texas A&M) singled twice and scored a pair of runs to spearhead the Woodchucks' offense.

The Woodchucks are back in action at Athletic Park tonight (Wednesday, June 29) against Green Bay. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Order your tickets today by calling 715.845.5055 or going online to woodchucks.com.
