June 28, 2016 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL)
Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release

The Acadiana Cane Cutters defeated the Woodland Strykers 10-2 in the Woodlands on Tuesday.

It was all Cane Cutters, all night in the Woodlands. Acadiana was first on the board with three runs in the first inning.

The Strykers were next with a run in the third. Seven more runs were scored by the Cane Cutters between the fourth and the eighth inning.

Acadiana's offense and solid pitching proved too much as the Strykers were only able to score one more run in the ninth.

Dylon Poncho, out of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and Trey Jimmerson, of Texas A&M, both tallied four hits on five at bats on the night. Acadiana as a whole had 19 hits on 44 at bats and totaled 10 RBI's.

Matthew White, of Lamar University, allowed just one run in five innings pitched and was awarded the win for the Cane Cutters.

Acadiana will go for the sweep tomorrow night when they take on the Stykers in game two of the two-game series.
