Louisville Bats News Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville Bats left-handed pitcher Amir Garrett has been named to the United States roster for the SiriusXM MLB All-Star Futures Game for the second consecutive season. The game will take place on Sunday, July 10 at Petco Park in San Diego, CA, the home of the San Diego Padres. Garrett, who was born in Victorville, CA four hours north of San Diego, will have the opportunity to play in front of family and friends in a Major League ballpark. He earned the win in last season's Futures Game at Great American Ball Park, pitching one inning and allowing one unearned run with one strikeout.

"Last year I was nervous, so I know what to expect now for my second time," said Garrett. "I'm going to go out and pitch like I know how and pitch my game."

Garrett between Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Louisville this season is 5-4 with a 1.81 earned run average in 89 and two-thirds innings pitched. He is holding opponents to .177 batting average against him, the best among all qualified Double-A and Triple-A pitchers.

The Bats have averaged 8,827 fans per game at Louisville Slugger Field since its opening in 2000 and have totaled over 10 million fans through 16 seasons. Tickets for all regular season games are available. The entire 2016 Bats schedule, including updated promotions and special events, can be found at batsbaseball.com.
