Machine Acquire MLL's All-Time Leading Goal Scorer, John Grant Jr.

COLUMBUS, OH - The Ohio Machine today announced they have acquired attackman John Grant Jr. from the Denver Outlaws in exchange for goalie Adam Fullerton and a 2017 second-round Collegiate Draft selection. Grant is the all-time leading goal scorer in Major League Lacrosse with 312 tallies.

Grant, a native of Peterborough, Ontario, and University of Delaware graduate, ranks second all-time in MLL with 515 points, and fourth in assists with 194. He is in his 13th season in the league and has recorded seven goals and nine assists in six games in 2016. Ohio will become the sixth team he has suited up for in his MLL career, joining Chesapeake, Denver, Long Island/New York, Rochester, and Toronto/Hamilton.

The 41-year-old is a five-time Steinfeld Cup champion, and was named the Championship Game MVP in 2013 and 2014. Grant won the Major League Lacrosse MVP award in consecutive seasons from 2007-08. He recorded 71 points (44g, 2 two-point goals, 25a) in 12 games in 2007, and 64 points (47g, 4 two-point goals, 13a) in 12 games in 2008.

Fullerton posted a 14.69 goals-against average and .425 save percentage in four games with Ohio. He won the MLL Warrior Defensive Player of the Week award in Week 1 after making eight saves at Florida and earning the win in his first game with the Machine.

Grant will play and wear No. 12 when Ohio returns to action this Thursday, June 30. They will host the Chesapeake Bayhawks at Panther Stadium on the campus of Ohio Dominican University at 7:30pm.
