Forest City Slips Away on Super Splash Day

The Grizzlies held their Super Splash Day game on Wednesday, JuneĀ 22nd and couldn't quite complete the comeback, falling to the Forest City Owls, 4-3. The Owls plated 4 runs through 3 innings, largely in part to Erik Williams' 3-run Homer. Gastonia scored 2 in the 4th and inched closer with another run in the 5th, but couldn't overcome the 4-0 lead.
Looking ahead on the schedule, the Grizzlies will travel to Martinsville tomorrow, before returning to Sims Legion Friday night for a visit from the defending champion Edenton Steamers. Gastonia wraps up the week on the road, Saturday at Wilmington. As for Forest City, the Owls are at home for the next two nights to meet up with High Point - Thomasville and Asheboro, before hitting the road Saturday for a date with Savannah.
