El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The El Paso Chihuahuas piled up 20 hits in their 13-3 win over the Reno Aces Monday night at Greater Nevada Field. Bryan Rodriguez allowed two runs in six innings to get his fourth win in five Triple-A starts this year.

For the fourth time in four games in Reno, the Chihuahuas scored the game's first runs when Jason Hagerty hit an RBI double and Diego Goris struck an RBI single in the second inning to put El Paso ahead 2-0. The Chihuahuas added three more runs in a four-hit third inning, including a two-run homer by Hector Sanchez, who has three home runs in his first nine at bats with El Paso.

The Chihuahuas chased Reno starter Braden Shipley from the game after four innings, his shortest start of the year. Shipley entered the game with the fifth-best ERA in the Pacific Coast League, but the Chihuahuas scored eight runs on 12 hits against him.

Hunter Renfroe's fifth-inning grand slam highlighted a five-run inning and gave him the PCL lead in home runs with 18. Renfroe joined Ryan Schimpf and Austin Hedges as Chihuahuas to hit grand slams in 2016. Hedges went 3-for-6 with an RBI but did not hit a home run for the first time in his last six games.

Jabari Blash went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, including a solo home run that landed on top of Reno's scoreboard beyond the left field wall.
