Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Bowie Baysox ambushed the Harrisburg Senators, 10-1, in front of 2,368 fans at FNB Field. The Baysox outhit the Senators 13-4, while Harrisburg (41-34) also committed four errors in the loss.

Harrisburg starter Michael Brady cruised through three innings before running into trouble in the fourth. Five base hits and a sacrifice fly plated four Baysox runs and ended the right-hander's night. Brady (1-1) collared the loss in his first start for the Senators striking out two in the process.

The Harrisburg bullpen struggled to stem the tide as Bowie tacked on six runs to put the game out of reach. Relievers Robert Benincasa and John Simms had similar outings as each tossed two innings, allowing three runs on four hits. Benincasa struck out two and Simms whiffed five while walking three. Ryan Brinley worked a clean top of the ninth inning in his first appearance with Harrisburg.

The Senators got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning as Isaac Ballou launched a solo home run, his second of the season, to avoid the shutout. Ballou added a double later to go 2-for-3 on the night. Only Rafael Bautista and Andrew Stevenson, making his Class AA debut, also registered hits for the Senators as Harrisburg scuffled offensively.
