Beckman Named Pitcher of the Week

DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Laredo Lemurs' RHP Ryan Beckman (pictured) has been named this week's Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending June 26th.
Beckman was masterful in his start on the mound this week, helping guide the Lemurs to a 6-0 blanking of at Sioux Falls on June 25. The Grayson Community College product threw a complete game shutout, striking out ten batters while scattering four hits to earn his second win of the season.
In 2009, Beckman was drafted in the 18th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played in the organization from 2009-2014, reaching the AA level in 2013. This is his second season with Laredo. Last year, Beckman was excellent going 10-1 with a 1.36 ERA, striking out 61 hitters in 85.2 innings pitched.
The Laredo Lemurs will travel to Sioux City to battle the Explorers at 7:00 PM from Mercy Field at Lewis and Clark Park. Fans can watch select American Association games live and for free at www.americanassociationbaseball.tv.
