Michael Purcell collected three hits, helping the Torrington Titans (8-14) to a 7-4 victory over the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (8-14) on Sunday at Fuessenich Park.
He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.
Despite the loss, the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs' Joe Thomas dominated the Torrington Titans' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.
Sean Webster racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He homered in the seventh inning and singled in the ninth inning.
Jason Staub improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Torrington Titans. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered four hits.
Corey Hart ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked two and struck out five.
