FRISCO - The Hooks scored seven times in the sixth inning while southpaws Kent Emanuel and Michael Freeman teamed to hold the RoughRiders to two hits over the final eight frames in Corpus Christi's 9-2 romp Sunday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

The Hooks (4-2, 51-25) enter the all-star break having won 22 of their last 27 games. The club is guaranteed to finish the month without back-to-back losses in June.

With the score level at 2, three hits and a walk opened the Corpus Christi sixth, knocking Reed Garrett (2-2) out of the game. James Ramsay, who was a homer shy of the cycle, scorched a triple to the alley in right, pushing the Hooks in front 3-2. Ramsay was promptly plated thanks to a base hit by Teoscar Hernandez.

Following a free pass to Alex Bregman, Joe Filomeno entered in relief for Frisco and managed to retire Derek Fisher on a fly ball to center field. Nick Tanielu was next and served a line drive into right field, scoring Hernandez from second base. Chase McDonald then smacked a single to left, chasing Bregman home for a 6-2 Hooks edge. Conrad Gregor punctuated the frame with a three run bomb to left-center.

Gregor is batting .306 with five doubles, three home runs and nine RBIs in his last eight games.

Emanuel (2-0) was touched for a pair of runs on four hits in the first inning. The lefty, who worked a season-high six innings, responded by retiring 16 of the final 17 men he faced. Emanuel fanned five and did not issue a walk, throwing 52 of 76 pitches for strikes.

Freeman engaged one over the minimum through the final three innings en route to his second save.

Each starter in the Hooks lineup recorded a base hit.

Corpus Christi completed its longest road trip with a 10-3 record. The club is off until Thursday when a six-game home stand begins at Whataburger Field. Click here for details.

The 80th Texas League All-Star Game is set for Tuesday at Hammons Field in Springfield, MO. Corpus Christi is providing eight all-stars for the South squad. The Hooks pitching contingent includes Edison Frias, David Paulino, Keegan Yuhl and lefty Evan Grills. Bregman, Hernandez, Fisher and J.D. Davis are also Springfield bound. Bregman and Fisher have been selected to participate in the Home Run Derby.
