Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Sunday's scheduled game between the Fort Myers Miracle and the Bradenton Marauders has been suspended due to unplayable field conditions after heavy rains at Hammond Stadium.

The rains caused a lengthy delay in a game that was paused in the bottom of the fourth inning with one out. The Miracle hold a 4-0 lead. The game will be resumed as part of a doubleheader on Thursday, July 7 at 6:05 p.m. and will be played through nine innings. A seven inning game will follow.

The Miracle tallied the first run of the game for a fourth consecutive day when Edgar Corcino blasted a solo home run to open the scoring in the second inning. On a 2-0 pitch from Marauders starter Austin Coley, Corcino launched a 363-foot rocket into the drink rails in right field, 1-0.

In the third, the Miracle tagged Coley for three more runs. With two outs and nobody on base, T.J. White sent a line drive 407 feet over the wall in right center field for a solo blast. After Nick Gordon singled through the left side, Niko Goodrum unloaded on a 2-0 pitch to send a ball 360-feet beyond the fence in right field, 4-0.

Fans with tickets from Sunday's game can exchange them for any non-fireworks date remaining on the 2016 schedule. For more information, contact the Miracle offices at (239) 768-4210 or visit www.miraclebaseball.com.

The Miracle (36-36, 2-1) wrap up a two-game set with the Marauders (40-24, 2-1) on the road at McKechnie Field in Bradenton. Randy LeBlanc (1-2) is set to start for the Miracle and the Marauders have not announced their starting pitcher yet. Monday's game will not be broadcast on MiracleBaseball.com, but can be heard on the Bradenton Marauders Broadcast Network with the glorious return of the 'Voice of the Marauders' Nate March to the Florida State League airwaves. The game is set for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
