Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers continue their series against the Iowa Cubs as the teams play a doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning games, starting at 3:35 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Today's double dip will make up a rainout on June 2. Today is a Chaparral Energy Family Sunday and marks the second doubleheader of the season for OKC.

Last Game: Dodgers pitcher Jacob Rhame struck out the side in the top of the ninth inning, stopping a late offensive threat from Iowa and sealing a 6-5 win in front of a sellout crowd of 10,163 Saturday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Dodgers used a four-run sixth inning to build a 6-3 lead, but Iowa cut OKC's lead to one run in the seventh inning. Rhame pitched a scoreless and hitless eighth inning before Iowa pinch hitter Juan Perez led off the ninth with a single. Perez then stole second base and advanced to third base on a wild pitch, still with none out. Rhame (SV, 4) responded by striking out the final three Iowa batters to end the game. Iowa quickly took the game's first lead. John Andreoli led off the game with a triple and scored on a RBI single by Munenori Kawasaki. The Dodgers answered in the bottom of the inning when Austin Barnes hit a RBI double to tie the game, 1-1. The Dodgers later loaded the bases with one out for Zach Walters, who hit a sacrifice fly for a 2-1 OKC lead. Solo homers from Mark Zagunis in the third inning and Jeimer Candelario in the fourth inning pushed the I-Cubs in front, 3-2. The Dodgers then racked up four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Rob Segedin hit a two-run homer to center field, and a two-run double by James Ramsey pushed OKC's lead to 6-3. Iowa scored twice in the seventh, including a solo homer by Dan Vogelbach. Logan Bawcom (2-3) earned the win, pitching 2.2 scoreless frames. Felix Pena (1-2) was charged with the loss.

Today's Probable Pitchers: Jharel Cotton (6-4) makes 11th start of the season today in Game 1...In his last start June 20 at New Orleans, Cotton suffered his first loss since returning to the Dodgers starting rotation in late May. He allowed four runs and five hits over 6.0 innings, walking three and striking out eight...Cotton enters today as the PCL leader with a .217 opponent average. He also ranks fourth with 78 strikeouts and second with a 1.15 WHIP...Over 63.2 IP, Cotton has recorded 78 strikeouts against 22 walks, resulting in a 3.55 strikeout-to-walk ratio and 11.03 strikeouts per nine innings...Since returning to the starting rotation in late May, Cotton paces all of Triple-A with 42 strikeouts. He is 3-1 over six starts with a 3.18 ERA and opponents are batting .161...Today is Cotton's third start of the season against the I-Cubs, and thus far he is 1-0 with a 5.73 ERA. He's allowed just seven hits over 11.0 innings, but two of those hits have been three-run homers, accounting for six of the seven runs he's allowed against Iowa.

Trevor Oaks makes his team and Triple-A debut in Game 2...He made 10 starts for Double-A Tulsa, going 8-1 with a 2.14 ERA. At the time of his promotion, he led the Texas League in wins and ERA, while also ranking third with a 1.03 WHIP...Oaks has won seven straight decisions since May 8. He allowed one or no runs in his last four starts with the Drillers, going 3-0 with a 1.04 ERA while holding opponents to a .187 batting average...He started the season with High-A Rancho Cucamonga and made four starts, going 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA...Between his two previous stops this season, Oaks is 9-2 and today looks to become just the second pitcher in the Minors to 10 wins. He currently leads Dodgers minors leaguers in wins and innings (88.0) and is second with a 2.56 ERA...He was selected by the Dodgers in the seventh round of the 2014 draft from California Baptist University.

Against the I-Cubs: 2016: 4-4 2015: 12-4 All-time: 128-133 At OKC: 69-61

The I-Cubs swept the most recent, rain-shortened series between the teams May 31-June 3, 3-0, for their first series sweep in OKC since Aug. 10-13, 2007...Through just eight games, the I-Cubs have already matched their 2015 win total against the Dodgers (four)...The Dodgers won the first series of the 2016 season between the teams, 3-1, in Des Moines, April 23-26...Austin Barnes has hit .375 in the season series, and Rob Segedin leads OKC with nine extra-base hits (3 HR), 10 RBI, and 11 runs scored over seven games...OKC has had no answer for Iowa first baseman Dan Vogelbach, who is batting .517 (15x29), with seven extra-base hits (3 HR), eight runs, and six RBI in eight games...The Dodgers won the 2015 series between the teams, 12-4. Nine of the 16 meetings were decided by one or two runs.

Winning Ways: The Dodgers have won eight of their last 10 games, as well as 10 of the last 13 games. At 41-33, the Dodgers have tied their high-water mark of the season at eight games above .500 (previously 21-13 and 24-16)...They are 15-9 in June, which is tied with El Paso, New Orleans, and Reno for the league's best record this month...Additionally, the Dodgers have won seven of their last nine home games, immediately following a stretch where they had lost seven of nine in Bricktown. They are now 18-18 at home this season, but have yet go above .500 at any point throughout 2016 (previously 2-2, 6-6, 9-9).

Austin's Powers: Since returning to the OKC Dodgers, Austin Barnes has hit safely in nine games, going 10-for-37 (.270) with two homers, four doubles, and five RBI...He's hit safely in each of his last 16 games with OKC, batting .328 (22x67) with five multi-hit games. His 16-game streak is a career best and the longest by a Dodgers player this season. It's also the fifth-longest hitting streak of the season in the PCL and the second-longest active streak (Willson Contreras, Iowa - 20), but it's the longest among players currently in the league.

Pitchers on Strike: The Dodgers notched 13 more strikeouts last night, marking the third consecutive game with at least 12 punchouts...OKC's pitching staff leads the league with 673 strikeouts. Last night was the 33rd time this season they have struck out at least 10 batters in a game...The Dodgers are on pace to notch 1,309 strikeouts this season, which would blow past the team's single-season record of 1,114 set last year...Over the past three games, the Dodgers pitching staff has recorded 38 strikeouts against three walks. For the season, they own a league-best 3.14 strikeout-to-walk ratio and have been even better in June, bumping it up to 4.33 K/BB (225 K/52 BB).

First Inning Fatigue: Just like the Rihanna song says, it's been nothing but work, work, work, work, work for opposing starting pitchers in the first inning lately. In each of the last nine games, the Dodgers have made the opposing starting pitcher throw at least 23 pitches to complete the first frame. It's gone up to at least 25 pitches in four consecutive games, including 28 by Adam Warren last night.

Short Hops: The Dodgers split their only previous doubleheader this season, June 9 vs. Nashville (W, 5-3; L, 4-1)...Zach Walters has hit safely in five straight, going 7-for-17 with four RBI and five runs scored...Last night broke a streak of 13 straight losses when the Dodgers allowed at least five runs...OKC has allowed 29 homers in 36 home games. They gave up just 35 homers at home all of last season.
