Chillicothe Paints News Release

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints (12-14), presented by Adena Health System, were unable to break through against Butler BlueSox (13-14) starter Pavin Parks in a 3-0 loss Saturday night at VA Memorial Stadium.

Parks (5-0) earned the win after he allowed just four hits, walked three and struck out one over 7 2/3 innings.

Butler got the only run it needed in the top of the third. Tyler Sullivan led off with a single, went to second on a balk, advanced to third in a ground out and, with two outs, scored on an RBI single by Dalton Hoiles.

Paints starter Tanner Allison (2-1) was the hard-luck loser. He allowed just one run on two hits and struck out seven over 6 1/3 innings.

Jack Szott replaced Allison on the mound for Chillicothe with one out in the seventh. Butler's Jamie Switalski hit a solo home run to make it a 2-0 ballgame.

The BlueSox scored a third run in the top of the ninth. Will Schneider led off with a double, prompting a pitching change for Chillicothe. Jake Horew entered and gave up a single to Switalski that moved Schneider to third. Schneider then scored on a Dillon Sunnafrank fielder's choice to make it 3-0 Butler.

Zachary Patterson retired the only batter he faced to finish the eighth, then Butler brought in closer Kyle Zurak to finish the game and earn his fourth save of the season. Zurack gave up a pair of hits, but struck out the side to end the game.

Chillicothe will play at Butler Sunday evening at 6:35 p.m. After the off-day Monday, the Paints will play at Kokomo Tuesday. Beginning Wednesday, the Paints will play a four-game homestand that'll be capped off with an Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza by 94 Country after the game on July 2.
