The Express scored six runs in the fourth on seven hits, including four extra-base hits. Joey Gallo lined the first pitch of the inning out to center field for a solo homer, and a key two-run double with two outs by Brett Nicholas pushed Round Rock in front, 8-2. A sacrifice fly from DeShields put Round Rock in front, 9-5, in the eighth. In the bottom of the frame the Dodgers loaded the bases with none out for Taylor, who hit a RBI single and cut Round Rock's lead to 9-6, but the Dodgers could not capitalize further on the scoring chance.
