Winston-Salem Dash News Release

The Chicago White Sox have announced the following roster moves affecting the Winston-Salem Dash:

- RHP Zack Burdi promoted to Winston-Salem from rookie-level AZL White Sox

- RHP Matt Cooper promoted to Double-A Birmingham from Winston-Salem

- OF Zach Fish placed on seven-day disabled list

- INF Ryan Leonards assigned to Winston-Salem from Triple-A Charlotte

The White Sox selected Burdi with the 26th overall pick in this month's MLB Draft. The University of Louisville star went 8-4 with a 2.44 earned run average in 60 relief appearances over three seasons. He struck out 83 batters in 69.2 collegiate innings.

Cooper earns his first promotion to Double-A after a sterling first half with Winston-Salem, culminating in a spot on the Carolina League's Midseason All-Star team. Cooper was 4-5 with a 3.36 ERA in 13 appearances, during which he struck out 95 in 77.2 innings. At the time of his last start on June 13, Cooper led the Minors in strikeouts with 95, a total that still stands at second amongst Minor Leaguers.

Fish lands on the disabled list for the first time in his Minor League career. In six games with Winston-Salem, the former Oklahoma State star is hitting .235 (4-for-17) with two RBIs and one run scored.

Leonards returns to Winston-Salem after a brief stint with Charlotte. In 22 games over three stops (Winston-Salem, Birmingham and Charlotte), Leonards is hitting .215 with one homer and five RBIs.

The Dash's roster stands at 25 players, the Carolina League maximum, along with two on the disabled list.
