Ice Name New Goaltending Coach

Cranbrook, BC - Luke Pierce, Head Coach of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club, today announced the Club has hired Jamie McCaig as their new Goaltending Coach.

"I am excited to welcome Jamie McCaig to our staff and look forward to working with him once again. I have full confidence in his ability to help our goaltenders reach their full potential and believe he is a tremendous asset to our Club," continued Pierce.

Jamie McCaig played hockey at the University of Brandon (2000-2002) and the University of Lethbridge (2003-2005), also spending two seasons in the professional ranks in the WCHL and ECHL. McCaig was the Goaltending Coach with the Chinese National Women's Team (2009-2010) and has held a similar role with several Junior "A" teams in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan over the past nine seasons. He was the Goaltending Coach for Team Canada West at the 2015 World Junior "A" Challenge in Ontario. McCaig is the Co-Owner / Operator of ATC Goaltending, a training company based in Edmonton, Alberta.

Jamie McCaig is a 36 year-old native of Penticton, British Columbia. He replaces Mike Bergren, whose employment agreement with the Club was not renewed.
