MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Tampa Bay Rays have announced that RHP Hunter Wood has been transferred from A+ Charlotte to the Biscuits.
Wood, 22, was 3-3 with a 1.76 ERA in 9 starts and 1 relief appearance out of the bullpen for the Stone Crabs in 2016. He pitched 61.1 total innings, allowing 12 earned runs on 33 hits with 55 strikeouts on the young season. This will be Wood's first stint at the Double-A level.
The Rays have also announced that they have released RHP Brett Marshall. The 26-year-old reliever was 2-2 with an 8.24 ERA in 15 appearances for the Biscuits in 2016.
