New Jersey Jackals News Release

New Jersey 4, Trois-Rivieres 3 (Completion of Suspended Game from 5/28)

LF Michael O'Neill was the hero for the Jackals in Sunday's first game at Yogi Berra Stadium, as his walk-off single pushed New Jersey to a 4-3 win over Trois-Rivieres. New Jersey trailed 3-2 heading to the bottom of the ninth, but RF Daniel Rockett led off the inning with a single and advanced to second when CF D'Vontrey Richardson drew a walk. A sacrifice moved both runners up, and Rockett scored the tying run on a passed ball. That set up O'Neill, who drove in Richardson to end the game.

Rockett led the Jackals at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. LHP Andres Caceres tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win, striking out two Aigles in the process.

For Trois-Rivieres, C Kyle Lafrenz was 3-for-4.

New Jersey 6, Trois-Rivieres 0 (Game 2- 9 innings)

A four-run fifth inning helped the Jackals blank the Aigles in the second game of their twinbill by a 6-0 score. RF Cory Vaughn hit a three-run home run in the frame, and LF Daniel Rockett followed with a solo homer of his own. The blasts were part of a 14-hit attack for the Jackals, who saw all nine starters record a hit, and five batters had two apiece.

On the mound, RHP John Walter worked seven strong innings, blanking the Aigles on just three hits and a walk allowed while striking out five.

Rockland 5, Quebec 4 (10 innings)

Boulders 1B Jared Schlehuber led off top of the 10th inning with a solo home run, and the Boulder bullpen held off the Capitales for a 5-4 win. The extra frames were only necessary after Quebec scored twice in the bottom of the ninth. Earlier in the game, Rockland CF Jared McDonald and SS Junior Arrojo had back-to-back RBI singles in the fifth. Each of the first five batters in Rockland's order had an RBI in the victory.

RHP Hector Nelo struck out a batter in relief, earning the win. The save went to LHP Donnie Joseph, who worked a scoreless 10th.

For Quebec, LF Derrick Pyles was 3-for-5 with two RBI.
