The Boston Red Sox have announced that Salem Red Sox LHP Jake Drehoff has been promoted to Double-A Portland and LHP Daniel McGrath has been activated off the seven-day disabled list. Please note the following changes:
DELETE: LHP Jake Drehoff
ACTIVATE: LHP Daniel McGrath
Drehoff currently leads the team in saves this season with six in seven opportunities. The lefty was 0-1 with a 4.24 ERA in 13 games (one start) with Salem. He last pitched on Sunday against Winston-Salem, earning the save with a scoreless ninth inning.
McGrath returns after being on the disabled list since April 14 with a subluxation of his right knee that he suffered while covering home plate in his second start of the year on April 13. In two starts this year, McGrath is 1-1 with a 7.04 ERA. He is scheduled to start this afternoon's contest in Lynchburg. He will continue to wear number 18
The Red Sox roster sits at the Carolina League maximum of 25 players with three on the disabled list.
