May 28, 2016 - Atlantic League (AtL)
New Britain Bees News Release

In 140 Characters or Less: The Bees and Ducks play not one, but two games today at Bethpage Ballpark! Game one starts at 1:05PM, with the second beginning at 6:35!

Series: The Bees have won three of the four games against the Ducks this season, including last night's 6-0 win on the road.

Bees Home Tickets: Available at the New Britain Stadium Box Office | Call 860-826-BEES

The Bees: Starting the first game of the doubleheader for the Bees, Josh Zeid appears to have found his groove as of late. The former Houston Astro has posted back-to-back quality starts and had his best start of the year last time out against York. In that game, Zeid lasted six innings, allowed just two runs and struck out seven (including five straight at one point) while picking up his second straight win.

The Opposition: Jack Snodgrass- Long Island's starter in game one- has been mowing down hitters at an impressive rate in 2016, racking up a league leading 44 strikeouts in 33.2 innings (a rate of nearly 12 strikeouts per nine innings). In addition, he has allowed three earned runs or less in four of his six starts this year.

Starters

Game 1: New Britain- RHP Josh Zeid (2-2, 4.26) | Long Island- LHP Jack Snodgrass (3-3, 4.01)

Game 2: New Britain- LHP Brandon Fry (0-0, 2.84) | Long Island- RHP Bruce Kern (0-0, 2.13)

Key to the Game- Keep up with the Jones: Opposing pitchers have certainly not been able to keep up with Jon Jones, as the outfielder has been at the center of nearly ever Bees' rally over the past four games. In that span, Jones is batting .438 (7-16) with two doubles, three home runs and five RBIs (including a home run in last night's win over the Ducks).

Bees Buzz: Craig Maddox is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak, which is his third hitting streak of the season of at least five games...With at least one walk in each of his last three games, James Skelton has widened his league lead in walks (28) and OBP (.444)...The Bees enter today with a 4-4 record in doubleheaders...
