Offense Stalls as Naturals Drop Series, 3-1, in Finale

SAN ANTONIO - The Northwest Arkansas Naturals (21-25) dropped the series finale and rubber match Thursday night, by a 3-1 final score to the San Antonio Mission (15-31) at Nelson Wolff Municipal Stadium.

Left-hander, Eric Skoglund, was hung with his second loss of the season despite working 5.2 inning of two-run baseball with five strikeouts. The 23-year old hurler is now 2-2 on the year with a 4.14 ERA.

Northwest Arkansas mustard only five hits on the night; two of which came from first baseman, Frank Schwindel. The Livingston, N.J. native finished 2-for-4 with a double and an infield single while providing the lone RBI on the night in the 3-1 defeat. Schwindel belted a sacrifice fly to centerfield to plate Ryan O'Hearn from third to tie the game at 1-1 in the fourth.

The Missions scored runs in the first, sixth and eighth innings en route to the series loss for the Naturals.

The Naturals continue their Texas road trip with a three-game series against the Corpus Christi Hooks (Houston Astros) on Friday night with right-hander, Alec Mills (1-1, 2.06) taking the ball in game one from Whataburger Field.
