Red Bull Arena to Implement New Security Measures

New York Red Bulls News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - Beginning with this weekend's match against Toronto FC, Red Bull Arena is implementing new security measures as it relates to prohibited items. Red Bull Arena's previous policy was already in-line with the MLS minimum standards, but the list of prohibited items has been expanded with the safety of guests in mind.
The items added to the prohibited list are:
Large purses
Coolers
Briefcases
Backpacks
Luggage of any kind
Computer bags
Camera bags
Any bag larger than 14x14x6
The changes will be in place moving forward. The list of items already prohibited at Red Bull Arena is as follows:
Weapons
Bottles, cans, coolers, containers
Noisemakers, plastic horns, air horns, whistles, drums, musical instruments of any kind
Fireworks, flares, smoke bombs or similar type items
Pets or animals of any kind with the exception of service animals
Selfie sticks, professional camera equipment, tripods, laser pointers, etc
Water guns, toy/replica type weapons, squirt bottles, soap bubbles, etc
Beach balls, frisbees, balloons, skateboards, rollerblades, skates, hover boards, etc
Streamers
"The safety of our guests is and always will be our primary concern at Red Bull Arena," said Shaun Oliver, Vice President of Operations at Red Bull Arena. "The changes being implemented are a simple but important step in creating an atmosphere that protects all of our guests' well being."
Prohibited items discovered during inspections at the Arena entrances must either be returned to owner's vehicle or discarded. The Arena will not provide a storage area for these items. Unlawful items that are discovered during security inspections are subject to confiscation and the person in possession of those items subject to arrest. Guests arriving by mass transit must take particular caution not to bring any prohibited items, as no exceptions will be made.
**Special consideration will be made for guests with special medical needs and parents caring for infants**
