West Michigan Whitecaps News Release

BOWLING GREEN, KY - Wednesday's scheduled game between the West Michigan Whitecaps and Bowling Green Hot Rods at Bowling Green Ballpark has been postponed.

Due to consistent rain in the Bowling Green area, playing conditions were ruled unsafe and the decision was made to postpone the contest. Wednesday's game will be made up as part of a Thursday doubleheader beginning at 11:35a.m. Thursday's twin bill will consist of two seven-inning games with a 30-minute break in-between. Pitcher Matt Hall starts for the Whitecaps against Hot Rods starter Taylor Hawkins in the first game, followed by reliever Toller Boardman making a spot-start against Bowling Green pitcher Michael Velasquez in Game 2.

Mother nature has taken her toll on the Whitecaps early season, as Wednesday marks the fifth time the team has seen a game rained out in 2016. A win in either game will ensure the team a winning record during their a seven-game roadtrip after the team picked up a 5-2 win in the first game of this series Tuesday night.. After Thursday's doubleheader, the Whitecaps return to play a four-game series against the Dayton Dragons May 27-30 at Fifth Third Ballpark.

Broadcast coverage with Dan Hasty begins on the Whitecaps Baseball Network Thursday morning at 11:25a.m. Tickets can be reserved for any 2016 Whitecaps home game by calling the Whitecaps front office at 616-784-4131 or by visiting www.whitecapsbaseball.com.
