There are now great Family Fare Fireworks shows on back-to-back nights to kick off the holiday weekend. Game time for Friday is 7:00 pm and the gates open at 5:30 pm. Dayton is in town for a four game series starting Friday and ending Monday afternoon.
Saturday's game is a 7:00 pm start and in addition to fireworks the world famous cowboy monkey rodeo will be performing. Known as Team Ghost Riders, this group from Mississippi will be performing throughout the game and then a longer post-game performance where monkeys ride dogs and herd sheep around the field.
Sunday is a 1:00 pm start. Like every Sunday, it is a Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Family Day when the first 1,000 kids 12 & under eat free and all fans can come on the field pre-game to get autographs and play catch in the outfield. After the game all kids get to run the bases. A special guest will be on hand as Buddy the Dinosaur from WGVU's PBS Dinosaur Train will be in attendance to meet fans.
Monday afternoon's game is a special 1:00 pm start. The Whitecaps will be saluting America's veterans throughout the day. The Whitecaps will be wearing special camouflage jerseys and the first 1,000 fans will receive dog tags courtesy of New Horizons Computer Learning Center.
