IronPigs Begin Series at Pawtucket

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will open a three-game set with the Pawtucket Red Sox on Tuesday night. First pitch from McCoy Stadium is slated for 7:05 p.m. The Pigs enter play at 24-19 and sit one game back of first place Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after taking three of four from Toledo over the weekend. Pawtucket is 21-23 on the season after dropping three of four against Buffalo.

RHP Zach Eflin (5-0, 2.36) will be on the bump for the IronPigs in the series opener. Eflin got the win on Wednesday vs. Syracuse when he gave up two hits while walking one and fanning six over seven shutout innings. Back on April 22 at Pawtucket, the right-hander allowed five runs on six hits over 6.0 IP in a no-decision. Eflin has held opponents to a .185 batting average in his 7 GS this season.

LHP Eduardo Rodriguez (0-3, 4.29) gets the ball for the PawSox in a rehab start on Tuesday night. The southpaw was tagged with the loss on May 14 vs. Gwinnett when he allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits to go along with three strikeouts in 5.2 IP. Rodriguez got a no-decision on May 3 at Lehigh Valley when he gave up three runs on five hits in six innings of work.

Pigs C Andrew Knapp has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games. In that time, Knapp is hitting .324-3-7 (12-37, 4 2B, 5 BB, 8 R).
