Jennie Finch to Guest Manage Bridgeport Bluefish this Sunday

(Bridgeport, Conn.) - Women's fastpitch softball superstar Jennie Finch will guest manage the Bridgeport Bluefish this Sunday, May 29 as the 'Fish take on the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Finch will assist the team in the dugout for the entire game and throw out the ceremonial first pitch. She will also participate in a pre-game meet-and-greet with fans.
"We are really excited to have Jennie come out and manage the team," says Bluefish General Manager Jamie Toole. "She is an incredible athlete and a wonderful person, and we hope our fans will enjoy seeing her in a Bluefish uniform for the day."
The pitcher played Division-I softball for the University of Arizona Wildcats from 1999 to 2002, and helped lead the team to a national championship during the Women's College World Series in 2001. After her college career, Finch played as a member of Team USA during the Summer Olympics in Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008, winning gold and silver medals, respectively. Finch also played five seasons in the National Pro Fastpitch league for the Chicago Bandits in 2005-2007, 2009, and 2010.
"I am looking forward to coming to Bridgeport and The Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Sunday, May 29th to serve as Guest Manager for your Bridgeport Bluefish," says Finch. "I look forward to seeing [all the fans] in Bridgeport! Go Bluefish!"
Game time on Sunday, May 29 is 1:12 pm with The Ballpark at Harbor Yard gates opening at 12:12 pm. Tickets cost $12 and can only be reserved in groups of 20 or more, with the purchase of 2016 Season Tickets, or with one of the three Bluefish Mini-Plan options. The five-game plans costs just $60 and each includes a ticket to five games, plus a ticket to Opening Day as well as the option to select one of three bonus prizes.
There will also be a special pre-game meet-and-greet with Finch, which costs $45 per person and includes a ticket to the game. During the meet-and-greet, fans will have the opportunity to take photos with Jennie and have one item autographed. The meet-and-greet is limited to 150 fans and will begin at 11:00 am.
