Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will welcome the four millionth fan to Classic Park at Friday night's game against the Fort Wayne TinCaps (Padres affiliate).
The Captains began playing in Eastlake in 2003 and hit the one million fan mark in 2005. The Captains were proud to welcome their two millionth fan in 2008 and three millionth fan in 2011.
Based upon the attendance through the beginning of the 2016 season, the team is currently 1,126 fans away from surpassing the four million fan plateau. Based upon the number of pre-sold tickets for Friday's game, the four millionth Classic Park guest will definitely be in attendance on Friday night.
In a change from previous celebrations, the Captains will be passing out scratch-off tickets to the first 2,500 fans upon entrance Friday. One of the scratch-off tickets will be the lucky ticket and the winner be honored throughout the game as part of the four millionth fan celebration. For the other fans receiving a scratch-off card they'll receive one of several different prizes or discount offers ranging from free tickets to future games to discounts in the Cargo Hold team store.
The four millionth fan, and his/her guests, will receive a variety of prizes and experiences on this night. The lucky fan will be upgraded to The Officer's Club club seats for the night, throw out a ceremonial first pitch, be the guest public address announcer for one half-inning, visit the radio broadcast booth during the game, and sit in the dugout during Friday night's fireworks show. In addition, the lucky fan will receive a 2016 Captains team autographed baseball, Captains Kids Season Pass for any kids in the group, and two 12-game ticket packages for the 2016 season. If that's not enough, the lucky guests will also be featured on the Captains social media platforms, in a future edition of the On Deck game program and on the 2016 stadium banner which will be hung in Classic Park at the beginning of the 2017 season.
Individual game tickets are on sale at the Classic Park box office, online at captainsbaseball.com and by phone at 440-954-WINS (9467). 12-, 20-, and 35-game mini ticket plans for the 2016 season are on sale now at great prices complete with several exclusive benefits.
