Knighthawks Announce Summer Camp Lineup

The Rochester Knighthawks announced today the dates and locations of their 2016 Knighthawks Under Armour© Youth Lacrosse Camps. Three-time National Lacrosse League champion Joe Walters returns as the camp director, while several Knighthawks stars will serve as camp instructors.

"Last year, we had great success. Our lacrosse staff is one of the best in the area," said Walters. "We have a great mix of Knighthawks players, who do a great job teaching the game, and college kids who come back home after playing at some great lacrosse institutions. They have worked for us for several years now and are great with the kids. They pass on what they learned in college."

This summer, kids will get to learn new lacrosse skills as the Knighthawks include box lacrosse instruction at both boys' camps. Area kids will get the opportunity to learn the indoor game from Walters, former NLL MVP Dan Dawson, former Knighthawks first-round pick Brad Gillies, and Knighthawks veteran Brad Self.

"We are lucky to have two venues, Total Sports Experience in Gates and Victor Dryer Road Park, that have a box rink," said Walters. "New this summer, we are going to incorporate teaching box lacrosse skills to our players, which is really going to help their field lacrosse game. It's really important the skills they they are going to learn."

The first Knighthawks Under Armour© Boys Lacrosse Camp will take place at Total Sports Experience in Gates from Monday, June 27th to Thursday, June 30th. The second Knighthawks Camp is set for Monday, July 18th to Thursday, July 21st at Victor Dryer Road Park. Full-day and half-day camp options are available with registration open to players ages 7-16.

The Knighthawks Under Armour© Youth Lacrosse Camp for girls is scheduled from Monday, July 25 to Thursday, July 28 at Victor Dryer Road Park. Full-day and half-day camps are open to players ages 7-16.
