Star Wars Night Caps off Barons First Full Series of May

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Following a brief trip down Interstate-65, the Birmingham Barons return to Regions Field Monday, May 9th, to begin a five game set against the Jackson Generals.

The second straight YP Monday at Regions Field starts the series, as Birmingham hosts Jackson for the first time this season with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.

Bring your appetite to the ballpark Tuesday, May 10th, as 50-cent Hot Dog Night presented by Kayem, Flowers Baking Co., Birmingham Zoo, MINI of Birmingham, WIAT 42, and O'Charley's returns to Regions Field for the first time since Opening Night. The Barons will also be hosting a Social Media Night theme, with Barons fans encouraged to tweet their seats for the chance to win a variety of prizes. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.

The second "School Day" theme of the season is scheduled for Wednesday, May 11th, as the Barons and Generals face off in a Wednesday matinee featuring an 11:00 a.m. first pitch. Play hooky or grab an extended lunch, and make sure to show your AAA card to save $2 off the regular price of tickets at the Regions Field box office thanks to AAA of Alabama.

Start the weekend early with Thirsty Thursday May 12th, presented by Miller Lite, Woodbridge, and Buffalo Wild Wings. Local artist David Murray will perform as part of the Thursday Night Concert Series presented by Birmingham Mountain Radio, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at Regions Field.

The latest FIAT Friday presented by FIAT of Birmingham is Friday, May 13th, with the first 1,000 fans 13 years or older through the gates at Regions Field receiving a Mark Buehrle bobblehead thanks to Auto-Owners Insurance.

The Barons will also don custom Rebel Alliance jerseys as part of the first "Star Wars Night" theme of the season with an in-game silent auction benefitting the ALS Association. Artist Patrick Giles returns to Regions Field, as fans will have the opportunity to purchase original comic sketches and be drawn as Star Wars characters by Patrick, whose portfolio includes work with Topps, Upper Deck, and Conan O'Brien. His recent projects include creating trading cards featuring characters from Star Wars, Batman, X-Men, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

To go along with the festivities, a collection of characters from the 501st Legion will be on-hand for photographs and interactions, in-game contests will carry movie themes, and the post-game Friday Night Fireworks show presented by Alabama Power, Coca-Cola and Hibbett Sports, will be set to music from the Star Wars franchise.
