Pats Select Muir in Second Round

Regina, Saskatchewan - With their second round pick (33rd overall) in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft, the Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to select centre Cole Muir.

Muir (6'2, 190lbs) played with the Yellowhead Chiefs of the this season, totaling 76 points (37G, 39A) in 35 games through the Manitoba Bantam AAA season.

"It's just an amazing feeling," Muir said following his selection. "I am so happy to be drafted so close to home and to a good team."

The native of Vista, MB, posted 11 points (7G, 4A) in five games to lead the Chiefs to the final of the Graham Tuer Bantam Challenge in Regina this year.

"We are pleased to get a high-end centre in Cole. He's a player with a lot of potential," said Regina Pats GM and Head Coach John Paddock.

This is the second year in a row the Pats have used their first pick of the draft to select a player from the Yellowhead Chiefs. The 2015 draft saw the Blue and White select defenceman Dawson Barteaux in the first round.

The Pats next selections will be in the fourth round, 76th and 77th overall.
