Stampede Hold #1 Overall Pick in USHL Phase I Draft Tonight

The Sioux Falls Stampede hold the #1 overall pick in the 2016 USHL Phase I Draft tonight. The Herd acquired the pick from the Sioux City Musketeers in a trade prior to the 2015-16 season. Sioux Falls used their other first round (#9 overall) selection to tender Jackson Nelson from Luverne last month.

Phase I of the 2016 USHL Draft consists of ten (10) rounds as USHL teams select players from the 2000 birth year. For the fifth consecutive year, Phase I picks will be announced on a live USHL Draft Show on USHL.com beginning tonight at 6 PM. In addition to the official announcement of Phase I selections, the USHL Draft Show will have exclusive interviews with players, USHL coaches and more.

Following Monday's USHL Phase I Draft, teams will participate in the USHL Phase II Draft in which teams can select players between the 1996 and 2000 birth years. The Phase II Draft results will be published live on USHL.com beginning at 8:00 AM.
