Black Friday, Playoff Edition
May 2, 2016 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - Black Friday is more than six months away, but the Waterloo Black Hawks are asking Cedar Valley hockey supporters to make May 6th - the date of Game Three during the Hawks' playoff series against the Tri-City Storm - a different kind of "Black Friday."
Fans are encouraged to wear black to school, work, and wherever they are headed throughout the day in anticipation of the Hawks' crucial postseason game later that night. Share black-clad selfies with the team's Facebook and Twitter pages to show your support, using the Hawks' playoff hashtag, #RiseWithUs. In addition, black #RiseWithUs t-shirts are available currently from Party Town Outfitters in youth and adult sizes, and all black Waterloo gear in the Hawks' official souvenir store will be on sale during the game.
While you're on social media, make the most of the opportunity to win a Black Hawks Playoff Party in the Budweiser Hospitality Suite by sharing on the Black Hawks' social media sites. The winner will receive 40 tickets to the game on Friday, May 6th, and the group will have their own private space at ice level when the Hawks host Tri-City. The event will be catered and the winner will also receive other gifts and prizes from playoff partners Bud Light, Hy-Vee, and Veridian Credit Union.
The Hawks have also announced several other promotions for Game Three:
-The first 1,000 fans will receive a Black "#RiseWithUs" Rally Towel courtesy of Community Motors.
-The Coors Light Cold Zone will feature special drinks to celebrate Cinco de Mayo
-All 2016 College Graduates are invited to bring their tassels to get a pair of white zone tickets for $20.16.
-For children age 12 and under, Texas Roadhouse in Cedar Falls is sponsoring $7 kids tickets both Friday and Saturday night. In addition, families who order these specially reduced seats will receive a free Texas Roadhouse Kids Meal token. Offer does not apply in gold zone sections.
Fans purchasing the team's full playoff "Pay as We Play" package should use their "Round Two, Game A" ticket on Friday, and their "Round Two, Game B" ticket on Saturday.
Single game tickets for both weekend matchups are on sale now at waterlooblackhawks.com or by calling the Domino's Black Hawks Box Office at (319) 291-7680.
