San Bernardino, CA- The Bakersfield Blaze (10-12) defeated in the Inland Empire 66ers (5-18) in a battle of the bullpens Saturday Night by a final score of 4-3 in 14 innings. Chantz Mack would drove in the eventual game-winning run with a sacrifice fly off of Brian Loconsole (0-1).

The Blaze received a quality start from Tyler Herb. The Harrisburg, PA native threw six innings allowing three runs yielding only four hits while striking out 11. Kyle Schepel (3-0) earned his third win of the season throwing two innings of scoreless relief. Offensively Bakersfield had multi-hit games from Drew Jackson (2-for-6, RBI), Chantz Mack (2-for-5, RBI) and Kyle Petty (2-for-5).

For the 66ers starter Justin Anderson allowed three runs (two earned) in his five innings of work. Inland Empire received two scoreless innings of relief from Keynan Middleton, Eduardo Paredes, Jose Molina and Ronnie Muck following Anderson's departure. The quintet struck out 12 Blaze batters during their eight innings of work.

For the 66ers Caleb Adams was a home run shy of the cycle en route to his 10th muti-hit game of the season going 3-for-5 driving in three RBIS. The effort was also his fifth three-hit game of the season. Tim Arakawa and Ayendy Perez were the other Sixers with multi-hit games collecting two hits apiece.

The series concludes Sunday at 2:05pm. Jeremy Rhoades (1-3 5.32 ERA) looks to get the 66ers back on track as he takes the mound for Inland Empire, Tyler Pike (0-2 1.90 ERA) will start for the Blaze. The game can be heard on the 66ers Radio Network via 66ers.com.
