Lexington Legends News Release

Yeyson Yrizarri's sacrifice fly brought Dylan Moore home with the tie-breaking run in the bottom of the seventh inning, and the Hickory Crawdads went on to a 4-3 win over the Lexington Legends Sunday afternoon in Hickory.

The Crawdads took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Yrizarri led off with a double and moved to third on a single by Chuck Moorman. Legends starter Nolan Watson struck out Ti'Quan Forbes and retired Jose Almonte on a popup, but a wild pitch allowed Yrizarri to score, and Moorman came home on a triple by Darius Day.

The Legends answered with a run in the third, and took the lead on Michael Hill's two-run homer in the fourth.

Hickory evened the score in the fifth on three walks and a sacrifice fly by Yrizarri.

The score remained 3-3 until the seventh. Moore doubled with one out and moved to third on a passed ball before coming home on Yrizarri's fly ball to center field.

Joe Palumbo (2-0), who finished the game after entering with two outs in the top of the seventh, got the win. He allowed no hits, struck out three batters and walked none in two and one-third innings of relief.

Yunior Marte (2-1), who relieved Watson with two outs in the fourth inning and left after Yrizarri's seventh-inning RBI, was the losing pitcher.

The Crawdads have won two out of three in the series, which concludes with a Monday morning game. First pitch is set for 10:30 a.m.
