Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Another game, another dominant start from the Indianapolis pitching staff as the Indians shut out Norfolk, 4-0, on Sunday at Victory Field led by five innings from Tyler Glasnow.

Glasnow (2-1) didn't allow his first hit until the fifth while preventing any of his five walks from doing damage. He allowed just two total hits and struck out seven to retake the Triple-A lead in season strikeouts (37).

Norfolk's Joe Gunkel (0-1) was solid in his Triple-A debut, allowing one earned run over 5.1 innings, but took the loss.

Indians (12-10) starters have now allowed just one run over their last 35 innings combined. Of those frames, 29 were fired against Norfolk (9-15) which did its work offensively against the bullpen.

Jacob Stallings doubled home Dan Gamache and Willy Garcia in the second after two errors allowed Tribe runners to threaten.

Insurance was added in both the sixth and seventh innings. Cole Figueroa singled to center to lead off the sixth then stole second to put himself in scoring position before an RBI groundout from Gamache brought him home. A leadoff double from Danny Ortiz in the seventh was enough to allow the Indians to bring him around for the game's fourth run.

Curtis Partch earned his second save of the year with 2.1 innings of one-hit ball.

The Indians will next welcome Durham to Victory Field for a three game series starting tomorrow at 7:05 p.m.
