Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Clinton Lumber Kings (affiliate of the Seattle Mariners) in the last game of a three-game series. This is game six of a six-game home stand for Dayton.
Last Game: Saturday: Clinton 4, Dayton 0. Clinton starting pitcher Zack Littell tossed seven scoreless innings and the Lumber Kings took advantage of four Dayton errors leading to three unearned runs. The Dragons did not advance a runner as far as second base until the ninth inning as they were shutout for the third time in the last four games.
Today's Dragons Starting Pitcher: Right-hander Franderlin Romero is a 23-year-old native of Venezuela who was signed as an international free agent in 2010. Romero spent the 2015 season at Billings, making 10 starts and five relief appearances, going 3-4 with a 3.34 ERA that ranked second in the Pioneer League. Romero made one start for the Dragons in 2014. Last Start: Last Tuesday vs. Kane County-Win. Final line: 7.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 12 SO, 89 pitches.
Individual Notes
- Franderlin Romero had 12 strikeouts Tuesday night, the most for a Dayton pitcher since Amir Garrett struck out 12 vs. Bowling Green in 2014. Romero had 10 consecutive hitless innings over two starts ending with the eighth inning Tuesday. During those 10 innings, he walked none and struck out 13.

- The Dragons need a win today to avoid being swept at home in a three-game series for the first time since August, 2014.
- The Dragons are hitting .160 as a team on this home stand and have been shutout in three of the last four games.
