Late Rally Dooms Nuts in Sixth Straight Loss

Modesto, C.A. - An error in the seventh opened the door for the Stockton Ports in a 7-2 loss for the Modesto Nuts on Saturday night at John Thurman Field.

The loss is the Nuts' (8-14) sixth straight, their longest losing streak of the year.

With the Nuts up by a run in the seventh, Joe Bennie started the inning by reaching on an Emerson Jimenez error at shortstop. Troy Neiman (L, 2-1) then allowed a single to Mickey White. Argenis Raga sacrificed both runners into scoring position with one out. The first run scored on a passed ball to tie the game. The go-ahead run came across on Sanber Pimentel's RBI double. James Harris followed and cracked a RBI single to plate the third run in the decisive seventh.

The Ports (10-12) tagged the Nuts' bullpen for six runs and nine hits in three innings after a quality start by Parker French in his California League debut. French worked six innings and struck out seven while allowing just one run on two hits.

Henderson Alvarez made a MLB rehab appearance and worked four innings allowing just one run. Brett Graves (W, 2-4) tossed the final five innings and allowed one run before retiring the final 14 he faced.
