HAMILTON, Ontario - Daniel Nikandrov scored at 1:19 of overtime to give the Peterborough Petes (25-22-2- 4) a 4-3 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs (19-28-7-0).

Hamilton forward Evan Krassey got the scoring started at 7:26 of the first period as he took a wrist shot that squeaked through the legs of Petes starting goaltender Dylan Wells. The assist on the goal went to Mitchell Mendonca. The goal was Krassey's first in a Bulldogs uniform.

Peterborough tied the game with less than six minutes to go in the first. Logan DeNoble took a pass from behind the net and beat Bulldogs starter Connor Hicks. Eric Cornel and Nick Grima collected assists.

Hamilton regained the lead before the period was out. Mendonca would find some space in the neutral zone and rip a shot low blocker side on Wells. The power play goal drew assists from Michael Cramarossa and Trent Fox.

DeNoble would get his second of the game at 6:08 of the second period converting on his chance in front. Assists went to Hunter Garlent and Cornel.

Matthew Strome put the Bulldogs ahead once more at 17:49 as a shot by Matt Luff would trickle along the goal line before being banged home by Strome. Ondrej Kachyna had the secondary assist.

The Petes sent the game to overtime at 15:10 of the third and it would be DeNoble with his third of the night. The puck would find him at the side of the net and he would put it home to knot the game at 3-3. Cornel and Matt Spencer notched the assists on DeNoble's hat trick goal.

The winning goal would be scored by Nikandrov as he held the puck on a two-on-one break and snapped it home. Kyle Jenkins had the lone assist.

Wells made 28 saves in the win, while Hicks made 42 saves in the loss.

Hamilton went 1-for-2 on the power play, while Peterborough was 0-for-2 with the man advantage. The game was Bulldogs captain Justin Lemcke's first since breaking his leg on October 4th . "It went well.

Honestly, better than I expected. I didn't know if my legs were going to be quick enough to keep up with the pace but I think I did a pretty good job. It's all uphill from here."

The Bulldogs hit the ice again this Monday for a Family Day game against the Kitchener Rangers at the FirstOntario Centre. Game time is 2:00pm.
