February 13, 2016 - SPHL (SPHL)
Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release

@Your Ice Flyers are hosting Blue Wahoos Night and their annual Teddy Bear Toss tonight in the Hangar with puck drop at 7:05 p.m. The night will feature many baseball-themed promotions. Here is some info for tonight:

Special Blue Wahoos jerseys worn by the team will be auctioned off following the game in sections 102 and 103 with proceeds going to the Children's Hospital at Sacred Heart in Pensacola. So let's help raise as much money as we can for the children!!

Fans are encouraged to bring new Teddy Bears or stuffed animals to throw on to the ice after the first Ice Flyers goal of the game. They must be new, as the Children's Hospital cannot accept used ones. The Ice Flyers will deliver the bears to the children in the coming weeks.

A secondary prize for the Shirt-Off-His-Back raffle will be a team autographed official baseball bat

Home plate, 1st base, 2nd base and 3rd base will be set up as other targets for the Lloyd's Glass Chuck-A-Puck during the second intermission, with the closest puck to the middle of each base winning an autographed baseball signed by captain Adam Pawlick and assistant captains Corey Banfield and Steve Bergin

The first 1,000 fans through the doors will receive rally towels provided by Big Rhino Screen Printing and Embroidery, Beer Me and Matt McKeehan Bail Bonds.

Dr. Robert F. Patterson, Medical Director of the Children's Hospital, and Quint and Rishy Studer, owners of the Blue Wahoos, will be performing the ceremonial puck drop In addition to the jerseys that the player will wear during the game, special jerseys for Maverick (#09), Kazoo (#00), and three former Blue Wahoos players will also be auctioned off to help raise money for the Children's Hospital:

#4 - Billy Hamilton - current Cincinnati Reds starting center fielder; holds the all-time record for steals in a season (155), which he broke in a Wahoos uniform

#17 - Robert Stephenson - a top pitching prospect for the Reds (named the #1 overall prospect for the Reds by Baseball America), played in the 2014 MLB All-Star Futures Game, currently on the Reds 40-man roster

#18 - DiDi Gregorius - starting shortstop for the New York Yankees, had the unenviable task of taking the SS position after Derek Jeter, but has quickly shown he deserves to be there, a fantastic defensive player who hit .265 last season. We're looking forward to a great night! We'll see you at The Hangar!!
