AMARILLO, TX - It's been a while between home wins for the Amarillo Bulls!

Charlie Singerhouse and Coale Norris each scored twice to power the Bulls past the Odessa Jackalopes 8-5 at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday night. That triumph snapped an eight-game winless streak that saw the Bulls without a win at home since December 18.

Other marksmen for the Bulls were Joey Molinaro, Jake Houston, Mykyta Sheptytsky and Liam Ferguson. George Mika chipped in two assists and had seven shots on goal. Ferguson netted the game winner with less than seven minutes remaining in regulation time.

It was a see-saw affair for most of the night with teams trading leads a total of five times. The Bulls rallied from a two-goal and a one-goal deficit during the game. Brian Baker made his first start in goal for the Bulls, and stopped 25 of 30 shots he faced. It was Anton Martinsson's first night off since December 3rd.

Odessa raced out to a 2-0 first-period lead with a couple of goals less than three minutes apart. Amarillo rallied with two of its own as Mykyta Sheptytsky scored an unassisted goal off a face off win. In the final minute of the period, Jake Houston fired a loose puck into the open net from George Mika and Liam Ferguson. The Bulls outshot the Jackalopes 13-10 in the first period.

The second period was filled with special teams play and a total of eight power play chances for the Bulls and just two by the visitors. After Odessa took a 3-2 lead, the Bulls tied the game with a power play goal from Coale Norris from Tyler Hall and George Mika. Odessa's strong penalty killing struck for its 10th shorthanded goal of the season to take the lead. The Bulls would rally back and get another goal in the late part of the stanza when Charlie Singerhouse converted on a wraparound. It was all Amarillo in the second period, outshoot the Jackalopes 20-5.

Singerhouse began a wild third period scoring frenzy when he connected on a breakaway early in the third period. The play was set up by forward Jon Evans who made a big hit near the Bulls bench. It didn't take long for Odessa to tie the game with a shot from the point. After that, it was all Amarillo led by Liam Ferguson who netted a goal at the side of the net from Nick Santoro and Phil Fromberger. Defense then paved the way for the Bulls with a pair of empty net goals off the sticks of Joey Molinaro and Coale Norris.

The Amarillo Bulls outshot the Odessa Jackalopes 42-30 in the game. Odessa was 1 for 5 on the power play while the Bulls were 1 of 10.

The two long time hockey cities of Amarillo and Odessa close out a two game set tomorrow (Saturday ) at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center at 7 pm.
