Prowlers Get First Win at Home against Danville, 3-2

Port Huron, MI - The 7th meeting between these two teams and the 2nd of 5 in a row against the Dashers would be a victorious one for the Prowlers Dan McWhinney would make the final save in the shootout against Brent Clarke in the fifth round and the Prowlers nab a victory in a shootout against Danville 3-2.

The Dashers have owned the Prowlers this season in their own building. They've outscored the Prowlers 9-0 in two games this season and the Prowlers were looking to right that wrong but A.J. Tesoriero would break the ice for the Dashers 5 minutes into the first period. The monkey would finally come off the back for Port Huron as Chris Leveille would register the first goal scored at home against Danville this season. Leveille's goal came with 2 seconds left to go in a double-minor to Aleh Shypitsyn for high sticking. That tied the game at 1 and that's how the first period would end.

Ray Tremblay would put the Dashers up 2-1 coming from the sticks of Daniel Turgeon and Justin Levac with eight and a half minutes played in the 2nd period. Newcomer to the Prowlers Austin Daae would tie the game at 2 for his 2nd point of the night in his home debut at McMorran Arena. Both teams would be deadlocked at two after two periods.

The Third period would be scoreless for both teams as both Dalton McGrath and Dan McWhinney would combine to make 21 saves in the final frame. We would go to Overtime. In the extra period, Justin Brausen would take a hooking minor with 1:21 left to go in O.T. The Prowlers However, wouldn't be able to cash in with the man advantage. The game would go to a shootout. Chris Leveille would score both goals in the shootout for the Prowlers. Brent Clarke who scored on his first attempt in round three would get another attempt in round 5 but McWhinney would make the save sealing the victory for the Prowlers who get their 2nd win and 1st win at home against Danville this season.

Dalton McGrath would finish the night with 33 saves on 35 Prowler shot attempts. McWhinney gets is first win of the season for Port Huron in his first game at home, making 29 stops on 31 attempts. The two teams face off again tomorrow in Port Huron. Puck drops at 7:30 at McMorran arena.
