Traverse City Beach Bums News Release

TRAVERSE CITY, MI - The Traverse City Beach Bums look to bolster their roster as they announce the signing of outfielder Wes Wallace. He is the third Beach Bum signing out of the California Winter League.

"Wallace is a good athlete with speed and power," said Dan Rohn, Beach Bums' Field Manager. "He can play all three outfield spots. He's a very good looking young player."

Last season, Wallace hit .318 with nine home runs and 39 RBI for the White Sands Pupfish where he was a Pecos League All-Star. He led the team with 22 doubles and also was hit 16 times, helping him to a .414 on-base percentage. He finished out the season with the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League after being traded in August, his first hit in a Bluefish uniform was a 'majestic' solo home run.

Prior to joining the Pupfish, Wallace played two seasons at Sonoma State University. As a senior in 2014 for the Seawolves he hit .239 with nine doubles, two home runs and 14 RBI while helping the squad to a berth in the NCAA Division II West Region Championship.

The Beach Bums begin defense of their championship Friday May 13th at Southern Illinois. The home opener at Wuerfel Park is Friday May 20th vs. Joliet.
