Blue Eagle Credit Union Named Community Impact Partner

SALEM, Va. - The Salem Red Sox and Blue Eagle® Credit Union proudly announce a unique partnership designed to increase positive impact on our community through combined resources and shared values. The Red Sox have named Blue Eagle® Credit Union as the official partner of the Salem Red Sox Community Impact Campaign for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
"Throughout our history in the valley, the Salem Sox have been extremely supportive and responsive to community needs," said Ryan Shelton, Red Sox President and General Manager. "In 2015 we sought to take a more proactive approach to these efforts, and actively seek opportunities to engage the community that has been so vital to our existence for more than seven decades."
During the 2015 Red Sox season, community relations efforts reached a franchise-high, raising $141,106 for local charities through jersey auctions, Pack the Park nights, and various other community-driven events. In addition, Red Sox players and coaches made nearly 200 community appearances while Mugsy, the Red Sox mascot, appeared in over 70 hours of community events.
This newly founded community impact partnership will be key in further advancing the community relations' efforts for both organizations.

Blue Eagle® Credit Union and the Red Sox "street team" will sport a newly designed logo (shown above) honoring the partnership. The street team will appear at all events that the organizations are involved in within the community, and in-game promotions at LewisGale Field.
